Rostral Mandibulectomy

Rostral Mandibulectomy is an excellent treatment option for tumors on the front of the lower jaw.  This treatment option can be used for benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous) tumors.  This may also be an appropriate salvage option for severe traumatic injuries.  In our experience, these pets do extremely well, and have minimal or no significant changes in facial appearance after healing. It is possible to see the tip of the tongue protrude or have increased salivation on the operated side, however, most of these pets look completely normal within a month or less.
