Lip swelling from foreign body (tooth) imbedded.

This web page has been created to make all of us think carefully about pets with facial trauma.  Facial trauma invariably causes facial swelling.  The swelling may be related to other causes including foreign body impaction.  Below is a clinical case presentation of a dog hit by a baseball bat.  Teeth were fractured and there was facial swelling.  Dental radiographs demonstrated a fractured tip of a tooth embedded in the lip.

Clinical case
